Judy Faulkner- Medical Records Czar- Healthcare IT CEO- Epic

A summary of articles on the emerging Obama crisis that follows on the heels of Lightsquare and Bundler payoffs- Judy Faulkner of Epic Systems and the acting de facto Medical records czar who stands to make millions funnelling Obamacare dollars to agencies that utilize Epic Systems software solutions, solutions that are closed to competition, forcing doctors to rely excluvely on Epic Systems or miss out on the stimulus gravy train

Crony Socialism Part Three- Meet The Medical Records Czar- Judy
Faulkner- Healthcare IT scandal

The Collier Brothers

Judy Faulkner, Medical Records Czar, Healthcare IT, Obama
Czar, Obamacare

It seems like everything comes in threes.

First Obama had the problem with Solyndra.

Then he ran into a  buzz-saw with Lightsquared.

It all amounts to an EPIC Fail and “three strikes, you’re out!”

Meet Judy Faulkner. She’s not your average Obama-anointed czar.

Usually they just get a cushy job and the ability to network, which is pretty
good while it lasts.

Judy is better than ALL THE REST of Obama’s czars because she doesn’t get the
cushy job and a few perks- she is going to quite literally have an iron-clad
monopoly over not only your medical records but potentially over the whole
Health IT industry!

WARNING: If it has pixels, no matter where it is, Judy the medical records czar
is going to OWN it- that is, if she gets her way.

Obama
gave her a juicy spot in one of those special ObamaCare central planning
committees and what do you know, that committee was tasked with giving
government contracts to providers to manage the new requirement that your
medical records be digitized.

The thing
is, and perhaps Judy thought nobody noticed, she happens to own the company
that got the deal.

BUT IT GETS BETTER!

Well, for Judy anyway.

You see her company, we prefer to call it EPIC Fail, doesn’t play nice with
others and she doesn’t exactly let her investors know what a true far-left
radical she is. Her
company is almost the polar opposite of the political rhetoric she espouses- it
is a top-down, profit-driven, and totally closed system that tells doctors and
hospitals who are going to be forced to use her services to digitize medical
records that they MUST use her software to do so!

That’s right folks, this Obama bundler thinks she’s Microsoft in the bad old
days before Microsoft was forced, at the insistence of people on the left and
right, to allow for “interoperability.”

Judy the medical records czar is telling companies that the only way to comply
with ObamaCare is to use her expensive software because she refuses to let her
precious software “talk” to other software platforms, as is the norm
in that industry.

I wonder if she will write a big fat check out of those monopoly-driven profits
to help the government like Warren Buffet wants “the rich” to do?

This is incredible and we are certain that over the next few weeks we will have
yet a third crony socialism scandal that will rock the White House, unless of
course Judy and her EPIC Fail scheme are quietly sidelined before too many
people notice!

Medical Records Czar Judy Faulkner defends inaccessible medical
records- Obamacare #epicfail

Judy Faulkner, CEO of EPIC Systems Corp and major Obama and
progressive political contributor, has been appointed Obama’s de facto Medical
Records Czar.  She is the sole person who
will distribute Obamacare dollars to government-sponsored healthcare IT, even
as she heads one of the largest Healthcare IT c ompanies in the world.  Here is what she has to say about creating IT
platforms that would allow multiple companies to share medical records with one
another so that doctors from any hospital can access your records easily,
potentially saving your life and thousands of dollars in unneeded tests:

FROM http://www.practicefusion.com/ehrbloggers/2010/06/want-to-improve-emr-usability-change.html

Did EPIC CEO Judy Faulkner really say that ‘healthcare IT usability would
be part of certification over her dead body’?

Earlier this week, the respected blog HIS TALK published
the following anonymous quote:

From Tabula Rosa: “Re: EMR
usability
. At one of the ONC Policy Committee meetings, [founder and CEO]
Judy Faulkner of Epic supposedly declared that ‘usability would be part of
certification over her dead body.’ I wonder if she has similar sentiments about
making software accessible to people with disabilities?” Unverified. This
inspired my new poll question – keep reading below.

Epic Systems Corporation is one of the nation’s largest electronic
medical record
(EMR) vendors. Kaiser Permanente, Cleveland Clinic, and NYU
Medical Center use its product.

Shortly after HIS TALK published the anonymous quote, another respected
blog, Health Care Renewal speculated
that “if this report is true, it would have very, very serious implications
towards the healthcare IT industry’s attitudes about the usability – and
ultimately the safety – of its products.

Medical Records Czar Judy Faulkner puts company profit over shared
healthcare record plan

Medical Records Czar Judy Faulkner is in charge of deciding what Obamacare
dollars go to the Healthcare IT companies of her choosing.  She is the person President Obama has
appointed to the de facto position of Medical Records Czar created by the
monstrosity known as Obamacare.  She
happens to be a major Obama and Progressive donor, with ties to Soros, and with
major SEIU-controlled clients for her very own Healthcare IT company (Wonder if
they will get any Obamacare dollars from their CEO who happens to be the sole
distributor of that fund), EPIC Systems.
Her company happens to be the most closed system of all the Healthcare
IT companies, in direct contrast to Obama’s claim that he is seeking to create
what the industry refers to as “interoperability”, the process that will allow
doctors from any hospital in any part of the company to easily access your
medical records.

Obama has apparently chosen to reward his donors with cushy positions that
will enable them to enrich their own companies (Crony Capitalism, as we call it)
than to appoint someone who actually believes in the interoperability principle
he CLAIMS to  be calling for:

This is what he touted when he was President-Elect:

From

http://www.informationweek.com/news/healthcare/212800199

President-elect Barack Obama said he wants the federal
government to invest in electronic health records so all medical records are
digitized within five years.

Obama announced the plans and the deadline during a speech at George Mason
University in Fairfax, Va., on Thursday.

“This will cut waste,
eliminate red tape, and reduce the need to repeat expensive medical
tests,” he said, adding that the switch also would save lives by reducing
the number of errors in medicine.

This is the person he appointed as Medical Records CZAR- an
anti-interoperability champion who is the CEO of a company that is aggressively
building a closed system in hopes of building a Healthcare IT monopoly not
unlike the one Microsoft tried to build:

Is Healthcare Interoperability Possible With a Conflicted Federal
Committee?

By Rusty Weiss

Interoperability – the ability of health information systems in different
organizations to “talk” with each other – is crucial to the future of
healthcare. By tapping into “big data” to learn more from existing information,
we will make healthcare more effective and less expensive. By allowing patients
to carry their health information across provider lines as easily as we want
them to carry their health insurance across state lines, we will empower
patients. In fact, one of the stated goals written into the Recovery Act was
the development of “software that improves interoperability and connectivity
among health information systems.”

But one politically connected left-wing company, Epic Systems, could destroy
this healthcare progress.

With over $19 billion in stimulus money being dedicated to health IT, the
selection of members to occupy the Health Information Technology Policy
Committee was a crucial one for the Obama administration. And a platform of
interoperability isn’t exclusive to the Obama camp. Democrats, Republicans, and
industry experts alike recognize the importance of interoperability.

Special to Examiner

A federal committee that includes a
major donor to President Obama and whose company stands to profit from the
panel’s recommendations holds in its hands the future of health information
technology policy.

Judith Faulkner, founder and CEO of Epic Systems Corp.,
secured a seat on a panel charged with recommending how $19 billion in stimulus
money dedicated to health IT be spent, despite opposing a key administration
position on the issue.

Faulkner and her company oppose the president’s vision
for health IT, but Epic employees are massive Democratic donors. They’ve given
nearly $300,000 to Democrats since 2006, according to the Center for Responsive
Politics.

That may help explain both Faulkner’s appointment to
the 13-member Health Information Technology Policy Committee as a
representative for health IT vendors, and the accolades her company regularly
enjoys from prominent Democrats.
